Woodworking Projects ~ How-to, Looking back, Pyrography, Paintings, Custom Woodwork

A look back and a How-to:

And I am looking forward to new ones to come!

Moon Tea, Witch Plaque

"Moon Tea Served at 3"
This painted piece was a gift for a witchy woman's greenhouse.
This piece was easily put together with a cut of old cedar fencing that was sanded smooth, then painted in layers.

Customized Hairbrush

"Miley"
This wood-burned/pyrographed brush was a gift for a little girl.
A cheap wooden brush had been sanded smooth on the back, designed in pencil transfer, wood-burned, then sealed.
It made a beautiful gift for a little girl's birthday.

I'll do anything for a buck plaque

"I'll do anything for a buck"
A woodburning for a hunter's man cave on a piece of pine.
These are easy to make and you can make many of them on one 8' pine board.

It's all fun and games until someone loses a walleye, plaque

"It's all fun and games until someone loses a walleye"
Another wood burning for a fisherman's mancave.
Again - another piece from a chunk of pine board.

Custom family birthdays plaque with hanging medallions

This customer Family Birthdays sign was a fun piece to put together.
This was painted and stained with eye hooks below each month and small wooden tokens for the new owner to hang beneath. Each token can be named and numbered for that family member's birthday.
The decorative cuts were made VERY CAREFULLY with a table saw that had the blade set very low.

Redneck country club, painted and wood burned bar sign

"Redneck County Club"
Burned and painted, another custom order for a mancave/ladycave.
Another chunk of pine!
You see how many things you can make from one pine board? A little investment goes a long way!

Equine, Horse, family plaque

"Hass"
A family nameplate for a horse ranch.
Another pine piece, pyrographed, with the table saw decorative cuts on the edges.
If you are planning on doing these cuts - make sure you are a seasoned woodworker or ask one to help you. It's not worth "trial and error" losing a finger.

Welcome sign, doe, buck, wood, painted

"Welcome"
A wood cookie wreath, painted with a buck and doe.
This wood cookie wreath was made by taking a fairly straight log and cutting the cookies with a chop saw.
AGAIN - make sure you know what you are doing.
This is dangerous. If you don't know what you're doing - don't do it. Ask for help.

Pyrography, garden table, custom witchcraft design

The wood burned and stained garden table.
This table was a custom piece that took ages to perfect and finish.
This was made with a spool end that was attached to vintage cast iron sewing machine legs.
After it was secured, I laid out the template and transferred the design.
Then I got to work woodburning. Again - this took ages.
The areas not filled in with burning were filled in with wood stains very carefully.

Gardening sign painted, weed plaque

"Weeds"
Lastly, a custom piece for a garden-loving grandmother.
This was made from a piece of old cedar fencing that was sanded smooth.
The lettering was transferred, then hand painted, along with the flowers.
A little love makes a beautiful product.
