Ah, the Kirkbride.

What's more beautiful than a 650,000 square foot asylum built like a castle?
Perhaps a full functioning castle...but without access to one of those - I'll settle for the Kirkbride.

Fergus Falls North Dakota is home to one of the Kirkbride asylums. Although this beauty is no longer in use on the inside, the Fergus Falls community has transformed its grounds into the Kirkbride park.

It has been closed to the public for two years now, canceling tours after 2015, yet the outer workings of this masterpiece are still reason for a visit.

I may not have had the privilege to walk the halls with my camera in tow, but I managed to snap 296 photos elsewhere...don't worry, I'm only sharing a handful.
